What My Clients Say
I had never commissioned an architect before moving to Canterbury. My house here is also in a Conservation Area
At the beginning of the project Christopher was well prepared when he chaired a meeting with Canterbury City Council planners for pre-application advice. He then produced a great set of drawings for the planning application always keeping me very well informed during the full planning process and dealing effectively with some neighbourhood consultation comments. He found me a very good builder too”.
Ms C Brown - Canterbury
We needed an architect who had a sensitive approach renovating old buildings
We were buying an old house with an attached forge building which were both in a very bad state. We did know that we were taking on a major building project and were not surprised when the forge required a complete rebuild. This was done using the original bricks and the roof space vaulted with replacement oak trusses. Very happy with the end result and the extra spaces that Christopher cleverly designed for us”.
Dr & Mrs W Speed - Ash
I thought I knew exactly what I wanted
Christopher drew up the design I had discussed with him and at his first design presentation he also surprised me with two more alternative ideas which actually made much more sense. I was highly delighted with both of them. He explains the reasons and building processes very well”.
Mr R G Ovenden - Nr Sandwich
Interior design of a penthouse overlooking The Thames
Chris was very patient with us while we were trying to find an agreement on a stylistic direction for the interior design. He produced some clever solutions for storage and display units but most importantly redesigned the penthouse plan configuration to allow much flexibility to open up the whole of the day living spaces through large sliding doors which disappear into the walls when we entertain”.

Lots of projects
Prior to my retirement, Chris worked as a consultant where we collaborated on more than 50 architecture projects. I was always able to rely on his design work which more often than not produced unique solutions. Just a couple of the mentionable ones where he had a significant design input are………
The new frontage for Lenleys Showroom Canterbury. Holiday Cottages in Chislet. Major listed building works at Stourmouth House and at 18 Palace Street Canterbury. Bio Chemistry Laboratories for Kings School Canterbury along with lots of smaller domestic scale projects. I am happy to continue to recommend him”
R Jones Architect - Chislet, Nr Canterbury
Architecture and other design work
I have asked Christopher to help me on several occasions. Firstly for some builders working drawings for a small housing development, presentation drawings for a marketing brochure and most recently for the design and joinery fabrication drawings of an ‘up market’ outdoor drinks bar which I transported to the Isle of Wight for Cowes Sailing Week 2017. Very happy with his work for me”.
