CHRISTOPHER PALMER: BA(Hons) Dip Arch MA - Architect
Good communication skills, a very rational approach to design and clear thinking for problem solving are all part of the service. Most importantly it is you who will wish to enjoy and feel proud of your completed project so my working approach is always flexible and I do appreciate that your funds must be spent wisely. For my part I ensure all my design work will also have a creative outcome to imaginatively add to what you already enjoy and that my designs will be sensitive and respectfully benefit any historic setting. I believe that good design really does make a difference. ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN SERVICES
I am very happy to receive enquiries for both small scale & larger commissions and can quote you for a partial service or from ‘start to finish’. But if you have some preliminary thoughts or are just contemplating what you might hope to do and have not yet managed to get much further I can give you common sense advice during a preliminary meeting with you at your house, or at the project location. There is a modest cost for this initial consultation which is later reimbursed when you commission me to develop your project further. |
SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCE
From 1995 to 2005 - Mainly Listed Building Projects
RESIDENTIAL – EDUCATION - CHURCHES & PUBLIC BUILDINGS all as a director of a practice in London for the five years before relocating to Canterbury during 2005. Prior to this my career has included several years experience with large interior design companies where I have undertaken MUSEUM, EXHIBITION & RETAIL projects.
Since moving to Canterbury and until 2016, I have been a consultant to a local Architect designing mainly Residential and Listed Building Projects concurrent with my own diverse personal commissions. Because of the historic nature of Canterbury and many of its outlying villages a larger proportion of my architecture work is frequently located in Conservation Areas.
PRIVATE HOUSING REFURBISHMENT & EXTENSIONS, both Listed Buildings and ‘non listed’ are now the larger proportion of my architecture work though as you will see my prior experience and creative approach allows me to be effective with other types of projects too.
